Eduardo Chillida’s sculptures encourage us to connect with our bodies and with others. In this yoga practice, we will work in pairs to feel the balance of opposites. The Basque sculptor’s works will help us understand the contrast between extremes like strength and fragility, heat and cold, the large and the small, and so on. We will become living sculptures, freely expressing what we feel and exploring new ways of being.
We will practice asanas that embody the energy of an embrace; we will combine conscious movement and breathing techniques that will take us on a symbolic journey to a space of stillness. Through these exercises, children will learn to relax and develop a better understanding of their own bodies, while increasing their attention span and enhancing the perception of their environment.
Aimed at the whole family, these classes use art and yoga poses to play, share, and connect. Art can help us all—kids and adults alike—attain wellbeing, improve our quality of life, and develop our emotional intelligence. This activity will give the little ones, and the grown-ups with them, the chance to connect to their creative essence as they explore conscious movement.
