The Teatro Real is opening the 2024/2025 opera season, its 28th season since its reopening, with a production of Adriana Lecouvreur, an opera never staged before at the theater.
Adriana Lecouvreur is an opera in four acts by Francesco Cilea (b. 1866; d. 1950) to an Italian libretto by Arturo Colautti (b. 1851; d. 1914), based on the play Adrienne Lecouvreur by Eugène Scribe and Ernest Legouvé. First performed on November 6, 1902, at the Teatro Lirico in Milan, the production at the Teatro Real, opening in September, will have Nicola Luisotti as conductor and David McVicar as stage director.
The screening will start on time. Once the screening starts, late arrivals will not be allowed in. Running time: 150 min., including intermissions. Limited seating. Activity subject to change.
