The online art courses at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao are accessible yet thorough, offering a unique opportunity to learn about key topics and concepts in the history of modern and contemporary art from a current perspective.
With the participation of experts in each field, the courses take as their starting point the Museum’s collection and its dynamic and varied artistic programming.
For a decade now, the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao's Film & Video exhibition programme has examined the different currents and modalities of contemporary artistic practices using film and video media.
Learning outcomes
The learning outcomes of this online course are, among others:
- To provide key references that allow you to easily learn the main features of the evolution of moving image in contemporary art and its main ramifications and numerous possibilities.
- To present a selection of works and projects based on the Film & Video exhibition history.
- To offer a sequence of different case studies, divided into four thematic modules.

Yara Sonseca, Art Historian and Independent Curator.

Duration
Open for three months. Participants will be able to complete the course at their own pace, from anywhere. The next module can be accessed after completing the previous one.
Who is it aimed at?
Anyone over the age of 18, with or without art knowledge, who is looking to gain a broader and more current perspective or simple key terms of reference. Members of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao Community will have priority access to the 50 available places.
