As part of the 2024 Encounters with Contemporary Music by Kuraia, the Museum is hosting a concert by saxophone quartet Lumina Ensemble.
Lumina Ensemble brings together four musicians who love both the saxophone and contemporary sounds: José Antonio Suay, Javier Carrillos, Isaac Verdú, and Pablo de la Fuente. Their project connects traditional music for wind instruments with experimental approaches to electronic music and the audio-visual world. The program of the concert they will offer at the Museum will include a tribute to Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida.
Lumina Ensemble goes beyond the classical concept of saxophone quartet, resorting to the performing arts, state-of-the-art graphic design, and sound experimentation. In so doing, they create an unusual acoustic and dramatic setting, enhancing the audience’s perception of contemporary art.
The concert will be hosted by Andrea Cazzaniga, director of Kuraia Festival.
