The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao Presents an Ambitious Art Program for 2024

Today, Friday January 12, the Director General of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Juan Ignacio Vidarte, and the Museum's curatorial team formed by Lucía Agirre, Marta Blàvia, Manuel Cirauqui, and Lekha Hileman Waitoller revealed the keys to the ten exhibitions that the public will enjoy at the Museum in 2024. The Art Program will begin on February 9 with a retrospective dedicated to Italian artist Giovanni Anselmo, who passed last December, and will continue on February 16 with a great exhibition on Pop Art from the Guggenheim Collection, sponsored by BBK. From February 22, the Film & Video gallery will host the audiovisual poem entitled Chaos Theory by Dutch collective Metahaven and in March the Museum will present the sculptures of June Crespo, including a site-specific installation. Starting on June 7, an exhibition will be dedicated to Austrian artist Martha Jungwirth and from June 20 the film work of Anthony McCall will also be on view. The summer offer is completed with an interesting retrospective of Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara sponsored by the BBVA Foundation and opening on June 28. In fall, on October 18, a major exhibition of the unique art of Swedish artist Hilma af Klint will be presented thanks to the sponsorship of Iberdrola and in November an exhibition will survey Paul Pfeiffer's incisive work that interrogates ideas of spectacle, belonging and identity. In addition, throughout the year, the public will be able to enjoy the exhibition Works from the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao Collection sponsored by BBK. This presentation of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao Collection includes a selection of pieces that mark crucial moments in art history following World War II.
