#guggenheimtogether

guggenheim together

The global Constellation of Guggenheim museums (which includes The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, The Peggy Guggenheim Collection @guggenheim_venice, the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao @museoguggenheim, and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi) believes that making art and sharing it helps us find significance in our individual experiences, while viewing art by others enables us to look at the world from different perspectives.

Artists are often known for creating art by hand, sometimes in collaboration, while others utilize various technologies that remove them from the physical process of making art entirely. Guggenheim Together has selected a number of works to celebrate art made by hand.

We invite you to create something handmade to express an important moment, idea, process, or to showcase something you created.

You can post your response using the hashtag #GuggenheimTogether between February 15 and March 21 for the chance to have your work featured on our international Instagrams!

Over the past few months, many people have come to appreciate life’s “simple pleasures”: family, friends, a good meal, a favorite song, a walk in the park. As we reviewed our collections, we noticed that many artists have also relished these small, precious moments.

We invite you to consider the simple pleasures you have found solace in, such as a coffee in the morning, the sunset, time spent with family and friends, and share your response (actually or metaphorically) created in any medium. Post your creation using #GuggenheimTogether by October 8 for a chance to have your work featured.

The table is often the heart of the home and social sphere. It is where meals are shared, memories are made, families and friends gather, traditions are born, and stories unfold. Over the past few months, we have been spending more time around our tables than usual.

We invite you to consider what happens around your own table (actually or metaphorically) – in any medium and to post your response using the hashtag #GuggenheimTogether by August 4th for the chance to have your work featured!

Lo profundo es el aire | Eduardo Chillida | Guggenheim Bilbao Museoa

This is the first of the topics that we will be publishing periodically and will illustrate, by way of inspiration, with works from our respective art collections. With these individual and collective reflections, we would like to encourage our communities to develop their creativity.

These days you may find yourself gazing  out your window more than usual. We invite you to show us your view—literally or metaphorically—in any medium, and to post your response using the hashtag #GuggenheimTogether on social media.
