Bina Daigeler, a designer and expert in fashion history, will be our guide on this tour of the exhibition devoted to Tarsila do Amaral. The Brazilian artist, who was described by the poet Oswald de Andrade as a “Young Caipira dressed by Poiret,” extended her modernity into the realm of fashion. Daigeler, who specializes in film costume design—has been nominated several times for the Goya Awards and was nominated to the Oscar for Best Costume in 2020 for Mulan—will explain how the designs of the day influenced the life and work of the artist and society of the time.
