Take inspiration in the works of Hilma af Klint and create a universe where everyday objects take on new meanings beyond their original purpose.

In this non-directive play activity inspired by the works of Hilma af Klint, we will use spare-part installations to create a universe in which everyday objects take on new meanings beyond their original purpose. Wonder, an emotion often aroused by art, will be the common thread.

What can you find in this room? A series of art installations made with items you will be familiar with—ribbons, boxes, textiles, wires, bowls, and others—which you can explore and handle in an endless, permeable game where things change as you interact with your environment, with other participants, and with the objects at hand.

Play Matters—a concept to explore the ability to go beyond what is personal and transitory through play, manipulating the installations and changing whatever you want at will. This play experience feeds on the human tendency to manipulate variables, follow our curiosity, and answer the ever-renewing question “What if…?”, kindling imagination in the stimulating environment provided by the Museum.

This activity is meant to be ephemeral, happening in the here and now, without materializing in something permanent, inviting us to explore and create at our own pace as we partake in the global excitement spurred by the game.
