Dr Alonso-Herrero (PhD in Physics and Cosmology) has built a strong career in astronomy, studying in Madrid and doing research in Oxford, Arizona, and Hertfordshire. A fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society (London), a member of the International Astronomical Union (Paris), and a member of the Spanish Astronomical Society (Madrid), in 2022, she joined the Astronomy Working Group at the European Space Agency.
