Books Alive! True Self (Ages: 3–5)

In this activity, we will see how appearances can be deceiving as we embark on an inner journey in search of our true selves.

First of all, we will enter a world of unconventional princes and princesses — free-spirited men and women who know who they are and what they like. Each of us will choose our own colors and shapes to make a design involving clothes, body parts, even messages we feel represent us. Paul Pfeiffer’s wood carvings capturing Justin Bieber’s physical essence will be our inspiration.

Our designs will represent who we really are beneath our outer layers. Thus, the activity will help us connect with our essence and let our inner selves appear in a work of art.
