María José Llergo

María José Llergo is a multidisciplinary artist, excelling as a singer, songwriter and also playing various instruments. Her EP Sanación (2020) fuses flamenco with ambient electronic textures, earning her international recognition and being named one of the 25 best albums of the year by the American public broadcasting organisation NPR. That same year she was featured on Colors, an audiovisual platform for up-and-coming new musicians, which have showcased the talents of artists such as Dua Lipa and Jorja Smith.

ULTRABELLEZA, her most recent album, was released in October 2023 and is a celebration of diversity and difference, a tribute to freedom. The record has achieved outstanding recognition, with an incredible score of 7.9 according to Pitchfork. In addition, it was ranked the 34th “Best Spanish Language Album of 2023” by Rolling Stone and recognised as one of the best albums of the year by NPR, consolidating the artist’s success and winning over international audiences that will culminate in a tour of the United States.
