In the context of Zinegoak Festival, the Museum is screening All the Beauty and the Bloodshed, the American biographical documentary film about photographer, artist, and activist Nan Goldin which was awarded the Golden Lion at the 79th Venice International Film Festival (2022) and nominated for Best Documentary Feature at the 95th Academy Awards (2022). Directed by Laura Poitras, the film follows the life and career of Nan Goldin, and her efforts to hold Purdue Pharma, owned by the Sackler family, accountable for the opioid epidemic. Goldin is one of the most relevant photographers of the twentieth century. Her photographs, exploring themes of love, sexuality, and gender, have been shown in the world’s leading galleries and museums, including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York.
